Dermal filler & profile balancing in Chellaston, Derby
Dermal filler is a soft hyaluronic acid gel used to replace lost volume, support the underlying structure of the face and bring your features back into proportion. At KHJ the approach is profile balancing: rather than filling one line in isolation, Keshia looks at your whole face — front and side — and places small, precise amounts where they will do the most. The result is your face, rested and defined, never overfilled. Every treatment is medically led by Keshia, an NHS nurse, and we welcome clients from Chellaston, Melbourne and across South Derby.

What we treat
Filler works best when it is placed where the face has genuinely lost support. These are the areas Keshia treats most often, and the reason each one changes how the whole face reads.
Cheeks & mid-face
Filler placed on the cheek bone and mid-face restores lost volume, lifts the lower eyelid area and gives back the gentle curve of a rested, supported face. This is the single most effective area for taking years off a tired look without anyone being able to say why.
Chin
A chin that sits softly back can make the jawline look undefined and the nose look larger than it is. A small, carefully mapped amount of chin filler brings the chin forward, lengthens the lower face and instantly sharpens the profile.
Jawline
Filler along the jaw corner and jawline creates a clean, defined edge from ear to chin, balances the lower third of the face and frames the mouth. It pairs well with chin work and with jaw-slimming injections where the muscle is bulky.
Non-surgical nose
Also called a liquid rhinoplasty or pixie tip, this smooths a dorsal hump, lifts a drooping tip or straightens a slight asymmetry using filler alone — no operation, no anaesthetic, no downtime, and the result can be reversed.
Tear trough
The hollow that runs from the inner corner of the eye down the cheek deepens with age and casts a permanent shadow. Support placed on the underlying bone — never a superficial blob — softens that hollow so you look less tired, not puffy.

Dermal filler FAQs
What is profile balancing?
Profile balancing means treating the face as a whole rather than one feature in isolation. Keshia looks at your side and front profile together — forehead, cheeks, nose, lips, chin and jawline — and plans where a little filler will bring everything into proportion. The aim is harmony, not a new face.
Does dermal filler hurt?
Most clients describe it as pressure and a brief pinch rather than pain. We apply numbing cream before treatment, and the filler itself contains a local anaesthetic, so areas usually become more comfortable as the appointment goes on. Ice is used before and after.
How long does dermal filler last?
Typically 6–18 months depending on the area, the amount used and your own metabolism. Tear trough and cheek filler often lasts longer than a more mobile area such as the mouth corners, and a small annual top-up keeps the result looking consistent instead of letting it fully fade.
Can dermal filler be dissolved?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be safely dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if you ever want to reduce, correct or remove it. That reversibility is one of the reasons we work in small, considered amounts at every appointment.
How long is recovery?
Expect swelling, and sometimes light bruising, for a few days — cheek and tear trough work swells more on the first two mornings than other areas. Most clients go straight back to work, and the final shape settles at around two weeks. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol and heat for 24–48 hours.
Is a non-surgical nose job permanent?
No, and that is deliberate. Filler in the nose gradually settles over roughly 12–18 months, so you can live with the shape, and if it is not right for you it can be dissolved. A surgical rhinoplasty is a permanent operation — we would always advise a consultation before you commit to one.
Do I need a consultation?
Yes — every dermal filler journey at KHJ starts with a free consultation. Keshia will assess your facial proportions, photograph your profile, talk through the look you want and recommend the right areas and amount before any treatment goes ahead.
